Guidance|A Prayer

In history books worldwide, we are always taught that the Roman civilization played a leading role in peoples advances in sciences, technology health, architecture, and much more. They existed centuries ago…imagine this.

A boy was walking through the countryside in Europe when he found a very old ring snagged in a bush . After taking it to a nearby museum , archaeoligists proved it to be a Roman fossil from some thousand years ago. The boy is puzzled, how can a ring from so long ago be found on any ordinary bush. His father explains that the Romans used to bury their valuables, maybe it was forgotten and over time grew up with the root of the plant.

After some thought, the boy denies that this could have happened and tells his father that he thinks the Romans never existed. He thinks that people just made up stories about them to justify where all these objects came from. The boy thinks that the ring and all of the other countless fossils people find just appeared.

This boy thinks ,from cars to watches nothing has a maker everything just appeared out of thin air, for the use of humans.  But he took it even farther, the oils we use in cooking were never pressed, apples just appeared in mounds at grocery stores. Cows gave milk by themselves, which appeared in cartons in our refrigerators.

One day, the universe came into existence. The vast Milky Way galaxy was chosen to be the one where the finest of creation was to be placed. By who? You may ask. The answer,”it just appeared out of thin air”… Our solar system in perfect harmony. Each planet is perfectly aligned in its own orbit course, never losing its track and colliding with another planet.

The Earth’s atmosphere so perfect, a protective covering, blanketing the world. Humans who inhibit it, in various races, statures, and colors. All equal in the sight of Allah. The only thing changing a person’s status is his righteousness and his purity of heart and belief in God. Which cannot be judged by his outside “look” and peoples judgement. After all, it is Allah who created such a fine being, with an amazing intellect. He is the one who let Man have a taste of enlightenment from his Revelations through the Prophets. But Man gets heedless of the fact that God is the posesser of all Wisdom and Knowledge. And thinking along those lines begin to question the wisdom in different things in life, though unknowingly they are challenging the Master of the Worlds , with their own meagre reasoning that ,itself, was bestowed by Him.

So let us look at our own bodies, take your hand for example, who gave us the right to even claim it our own. Allah gave us all the limbs we have, our health, wealth, time, knowledge, family and countless other blessings. So to even think for a second we are unfortunate is not in the picture. We are living , breathing, walking, and talking. Just that is an opportunity. Let us make our decisions wisely, using our time sparingly, because we only have one life. On which we are to be graded on, on the Day of Judgement.

But rejoice, and know that Allah wishes good for you. It is evident ,as he has chosen to give you life, a chance to correct our mistakes and enter into the everlasting Garden, Paradise, with His mercy.

The Path towards Him is evident, and the signposts are clear to those who look and seek guidance.

Allah guides whom he wills, those who are truly seeking it, and leaves to stray whom he wills, the one who turns his back towards the truth and wishes not for the Straight Path.

This is the first Surah in The Holy Quran, that is a prayer to Allah for just that. It is answered in just the next Surah, with a clear formula to reach the pleasure of Allah, true sucess.

1:1

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

1:2

[All] praise is [due] to Allah , Lord of the worlds –

1:3

The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

1:4

Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.

1:5

It is You we worship and You we ask for help.

1:6

Guide us to the straight path –

1:7

The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.

Ameen.
